​What is Stott Pilates?

​​​

This Pilates method was originated and invented by Joseph Pilates dating back to 1926 New York.

The Stott Pilates brand is highly regarded within the Pilates industry.

The Stott method was developed in 1987 by Canadians Moira Merrithew and her husband Lindsay who teamed up with other experts such as those in sports medicine, fitness professionals, and physiotherapists.

Stott Pilates is a contemporary methodology based on 5 bio-mechanical principles: Head and Cervical Placement, Pelvic Placement, Rib Cage Placement, Scapular Movement and Stabilization, and Breathing. Together with motion control, alignment and correct form, these principles are encouraged with each exercise.​

Pilates can be incredibly relaxing by providing a space for the body to rejuvenate and release stress and tension. Working with the breath alone has its power in oxygenating the blood, stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system to calm the mind, body and even the digestive system.

Falconè Pilates classes focus on integrating all parts of the body while working to restore muscle, joint strength, and the natural curves of the spine.

Classes are designed to educate members about their body and how to better carry the body through movements with precision to generate more comfort and freedom in the body throughout daily activities.

All of our classes incorporate contemporary exercise principles, fascial integration, and muscle conditioning that focuses on a full body approach to bring about spinal, core and joint strength as well as muscular balance

The more we learn to use our body well in class the more we will use it well outside of the classroom!
